Children’s rights

Children’s rights issues that exist in Bangladesh are predominantly violence, child labour, child marriage, and child trafficking. 13% of children are involved in child labour, who are denied an education and vulnerable to violence and abuse. Bangladesh has one of the highest rates of child marriage: 66% of women are married before they turn 18. Bangladesh has one of the lowest rates of birth registration in the world, making it difficult to protect children from trafficking, child labour, and child marriage.

Our children’s rights program is dedicated to raising awareness and increasing child protection. Along with our education and Early Childhood Development program, our focus will be on:

  • Increasing birth registration rates
  • Provide life skill training in the areas of social and interpersonal development
  • Help develop livelihood skills to enhance a child’s future employability

Women’s rights

Women’s rights issues are prevalent in Bangladesh, oftentimes leaving them vulnerable to violence, preventing them from pursing an education, or employment. As such, our women’s rights programs is dedicated to raising awareness regarding these issues, fight against violence against women, and empower them by generating employment, provide access to education, and increase their sources of income.
